This summer, 93 partnered with Peer Power to provide internships to 6 students in the Earn and Learn Program. Our goal was to introduce the career of Project Management to students to see if they were interested in project management as a career and, if so, equip them with hands-on practical applications to be successful project managers. Most high school and college students don’t understand the methodology of project management, although the foundational components are done every day in life. PM is all about managing Scope, Budget, and Time for any group of activities you set out to accomplish.

I am a college student, and I attend the University of Memphis. I am the first in my family to go to college so I never had any guidance in school. I have had to go through trial and error to be able to get to where I am. Since most of my family members never went to college, I did not know how important it was to get an internship. WhenI got to UofM, I saw that I needed to gain some experience in the field that I am majoring in, which is accounting. Earn and learn helped me get into an internship with Aztec. Peer Power's Earn & Learn is funded by YEP
Tennessee’s Youth Employment Program (YEP) links ambitious young adults aged 14-24 with employers in diverse industries across Tennessee. Participants dive into hands-on workforce experiences, gaining invaluable skills and test-driving future careers while earning up to $3,200 along the way. This year-round program from the state of Tennessee offers much more than youth job opportunities — it teaches lifelong and life-changing skills. YEP is THE vibe to thrive in the workforce.
